The recording sessions for “More To Love” were great fun. I haven’t had a band for a while so I had to look for each player individually. In the past I chose musicians because I’d heard that they were great session players. Rick and I refer to these types as “studio sausage”, great technique but no heart investment in the project. This time I used players that were personally connected with either Rick or me so we could be sure they would give from their hearts to the songs. This turned out to be the best decision I’ve made in a long time. (Of course it helps that they are incredible players too!) Following is a little about each of them and links to their individual web sites.
Not mentioned but equally important are the graphic artist and photographer. Leslie Holtzman is a great photographer and friend who I knew I would bring out the fun in me as I posed with little covering myself. (I’m really a jeans and T-shirt kind of gal!) Cousin Isaac, graphic designer, and I met recently and have worked together easily since the day we met. He really goes the extra mile for the appropriate artistic expression. He is as detail oriented as I am. (I can drive some people nuts!)
My thanks to each of you.
For me…the path is the goal. Living this philosophy has given me the satisfaction I’d always wished for.
